PENNEKAMP STATE PARK
Renowned for being the country’s first undersea park, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park encompasses an impressive 70 nautical square miles. While many visitors view the park’s colorful coral reefs and teeming marine life on a glass-bottom boat tour,
visitors can also enjoy walking on short trails through tropical hammocks, picnicking or swimming at the beach. The visitor center features several large saltwater aquariums filled with sea creatures, and nature videos are shown in its theater. Full-facility and youth/group campsites are available.

CURRY HAMMOCK STATE park
Halfway between Key Largo and Key West sits 1,000-acre Curry Hammock State Park, the largest uninhabited parcel of land between Key Largo and Big Pine Key. The park protects large areas of mangrove swamp, rockland hammocks and seagrass beds essential to the Florida Keys ecosystem. The park is an ideal destination to kayak and paddle board with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.
The main restroom has composting toilets and solar-powered hot showers.

Jolly Roger is on the Bay Side of mile marker 59 in Marathon. The property has three areas, most recommended are the Seawall sites. Lots of shade trees, grass & lush spaces. Reservations are required, just like all the others on this list check for availability and cancellations even if told unavailable prior.

BIG PINE KEY RESORT
Big Pine Key Resort, previously known as Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge, occupies ten pristine acres between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. BAHIA HONDA STATE PARK
Bahia Honda is the holy grail of Keys Camping. There is no other campground like it on this planet. Although it reserves months in advance, YOU CAN find camp sites from reschedulings and cancellations by calling them! Reach out to us for help in navigating the phone list, reservation site and alerts. You may have to stay one night on a Tuesday and another the Thursday after but you'll be glad you did! Plenty of Bahia Honda info online, this is just our two cents.

boyd's key west campground
Boyd's is one of the most popular campgrounds in the Keys. Built on Stock Island from what was once an industrial outparcel, Boyd's is a gentrification story dreams are made of. Paddle board or kayak from their protected shallow beach, bike to the Key West destinations or just chill out and soak up the scenery!
